Soul Winning Church in Kansas City | Why We Never Give Up

< Back to Blog

Something that God has challenged us to always be is a soul winning church in Kansas City. We know that there are people that need a Savior and we have the answer, so we have to share!

If we believe we have the answer for the world we have to remember that our lives are meant to glorify Christ, at any cost.

All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory. That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.” (2 Corinthians 4:15-16 NLT)

There is a reason for Paul telling the church about going to go through all the things he laid out in the previous verses. All of the despair, perplexity, stresses, and pressure—every bit of what you go through that tests your faith and resolve is for the benefit of those you are influencing for the Kingdom of God. If you don’t grab a hold of this truth, then you will not understand the significance of why you go through what you do.
The biggest oversight in the church today is that your life is not your own; and that the Christian life really is not about ME. You are to live for others and esteem them higher than yourself; look out for the interest of others more than your own interests. As a disciple you are called to lay down your life for other people and engage in the battle against the unholy trinity—me, myself and I.
Please understand that God didn’t save you just to heal you, bless you and get you to heaven; though all these are benefits of being in right relationship with Him. You were saved to fulfill your kingdom purpose as a holy vessel chosen to carry His loving presence to a lost and dying world.
The topic of every message at The Cure and even several of these devotions a few months ago ministered on knowing and showing God’s love. Within them Jesus gives His evaluation of the greatest love in the whole Bible.
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” (John 15:13)
The reason you never give up in the midst of “all of this” is because the love of God has impacted you and changed your self-centered heart. Now you can actually care about people like Paul, who endured suffering so that the lost might be saved and the Lord would be glorified.
You see the only way people will get saved and glorify God is for them to see His grace manifested in you; to experience the salvation and blessing of God that you’ve experienced. So follow Paul’s example to refuse defeat in the midst of trials and be renewed in your spirit every day; knowing that others will make it to heaven because of your sacrifice.
