Kansas City Multiracial Church: Much Work, Few Workers

< Back to Blog

The Cure is a multiracial church because we believe that God LOVES differentiality!

In the great harvest is an abundance of all types of people and we are called to reach E V E R Y O N E. Period.

You may find yourself working hard in the kingdom of God.  You’re faithful to family, church, ministry, and your job.  There seems to be little time left for anything else. But in the midst of all you’re doing you may just be missing the most important thing.

Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”  Matt 9:35-38

Here we have just read that Jesus was busy in ministry.  He was traveling, healing, and preaching.  But in the midst of all He was doing  He had compassion.  God wants to give us discernment to see beyond the work to the reason for the work, a people lost, confused, and helpless.

Revival is not some fun service but real people turning to Jesus. With compassion, like Jesus, God wants us to preach the brutal truth of the Gospel.  We are in an age where so many water down the Gospel, but we must be willing to say those things that have become taboo in too many churches.

I believe many are coming to Jesus because they are hurting and desperate.  But if a fruit is left on the vine too long it will rot.  Well the same with people.  Without the preaching of the Gospel and the reaping of souls people will be lost…
